calorie burning activity: what you can do at home to burn calorie
If you work from home or seems to have too much time at home after work, you may start to worry that you won’t be getting enough exercise. There are still plenty of normal jobs you can do around the house and still count them as a calorie burning activity.
Keep in mind, we’re not talking about exercising in the house, per se. Rather, we’re talking about normal chores that will probably need to be done anyway - chores that can also double as calorie-burning exercises. Here are just a few ideas.
One excellent way to burn calories is through mowing your lawn (push mower, please, not a riding mower). Similarly, tending to a garden, pulling weeds, and so forth, will all help you ‘exercise’, while allowing you to enjoy the sunny weather!
Calorie-burning can take indoors also. One idea is to spend time organizing your closet or your dresser drawers. Sort through your clothing, deciding which ones you wear and which ones you don’t (and probably never will). Bag up the unused clothing and carry them to a local Goodwill or charity. This is good, not just for your body, but for your emotions also.
And hey, while you’re sorting, you can always consider organizing a yard sale. Comb through the house and garage and find all of those things that nobody ever uses. Have a dozen or so boxes on hand and organize them accordingly into these boxes. Post signs around the neighborhood advertising the sale. There are lots of ways that hosting a yard sale can burn calories - and you’ll also make money in the process!
If you have children, why not take them to the park and join in the fun. You can run around with them going from activity to activity. Play on the swings and kick your legs, climb up the slide and come back down again. Not only is taking your children to the park a fun thing for all of you it is also a great calorie burning activity.
A family pet is a good substitute for children if you don’t have kids. Instead of taking the kid to the park, take your dog on a walk there. Encourage him to run there and back, and do your best to keep up! Or play fetch him with with a ball or frisbee. Your dog will feel you’re truly bonding with him; he won’t know he’s actually becoming your exercise buddy.
Meanwhile, back in the house, some people burn calories just by redecorating a room or rooms in the home. Redecorating involves a lot of lifting moving round furniture, as well as sweeping and dusting and nailing things to the wall. And let’s not forget painting. Using those rollers not only burns calories, but builds muscle as well!
Now it’s up to you. Use your imagination, and I’m sure you can find dozens of things that need to be done in your home that will help you get a little exercise in the process. What better way to burn calories than by doing something that needed to be done any way?
